What are the supporting accessories for bearings?

2023-04-11

Bearings are an indispensable part of mechanical equipment components, and the accessories of bearings are also an indispensable part of bearings. What are the supporting accessories of bearings? Based on our understanding of bearing knowledge, the main accessories for bearing accessories include: tightening sleeve, withdrawal sleeve, locking nut, locking device, bearing seat, thrust ring, etc.

1、 Tight set sleeve

Tight sleeve is a commonly used component for positioning bearings with tapered holes on cylindrical shafts, as this type of sleeve can be used for optical or stepped shafts. The tightening sleeve is composed of a tightening sleeve, a locking nut, and a locking device, used to fix the tapered hole bearing onto the cylindrical shaft. Tight sleeve is used to fix tapered hole self-aligning bearings (self-aligning ball bearings, self-aligning roller bearings) on a shoulder less shaft. It has a simple structure, reliable operation, convenient bearing replacement, and is widely used in industries such as textile, light industry, papermaking, metallurgy, belt transportation, and conveying equipment.

2、 Dismantling sleeve

It is also used to fix tapered hole bearings onto cylindrical shafts. The use of locking sleeves and dismantling sleeves helps facilitate bearing assembly and disassembly, and simplifies bearing configuration design. The disassembly sleeve is installed at the end of the shaft and is often disassembled. The installation, disassembly, and maintenance of large tapered hole bearings (self-aligning ball bearings, self-aligning roller bearings, double row cylindrical roller bearings) are particularly convenient, and are widely used in mechanical equipment such as light industry, metallurgy, and rolling mills.

3、 Locking nut

Used to fix bearings to shafts or locking sleeves, as well as to install and disassemble bearings on withdrawal sleeves or tapered shafts. Lock nut is a type of nut widely used in the mechanical and other industries, and its working principle is to use the friction force between the nut and the bolt for self-locking. However, the reliability of this self-locking will decrease under dynamic loads. In some important occasions, we will take some anti loosening measures to ensure the reliability of nut locking.

4、 Pin tightening device

It consists of a lock washer, a lock clamp, and a screw that secures the lock clamp to the nut. The smaller lock nut is secured by the lock washer, while the lock clamp embedded in the lock nut groove is used to secure the larger lock nut.

5、 Bearing seat

The bearing seat and self-aligning bearing form an economical and interchangeable bearing unit, which meets the requirements of easy maintenance and is used in conveying systems and transmission mechanisms. The rotary table bearing seat is a large and extra large bearing seat that can accept comprehensive loads and has a special structure. It has the characteristics of compact structure, sensitive rotation, and convenient device maintenance. Where there are bearings, there must be support points. The inner support point of the bearing is the shaft, and the outer support is commonly referred to as the bearing seat.

6、 Thrust ring

Used for fixing bearings in bearing seats. The thrust ring is a semi circular ring with one side covered with anti wear alloy. The lower part of the thrust ring has a convex tail on the outer side of the middle part, which is embedded in the bearing cover groove during installation to prevent the thrust ring from rotating.

Application of disc rake bearings

2023-04-11

Whether cultivating soil or mowing grass, a disc rake must remove heavy and laborious soil, dust, and more. In working condition, the disc rake bearing must come into contact with these substances and withstand both heavy and impact loads. During the flushing process, the bearing seals must be kept free of water and detergent, and lubricants must not leak out.

Is more grease better?

2023-04-11

The movement of lubricating grease in bearings can be roughly divided into two stages: the running in period and the balance period. During the running in period of the bearing, excess lubricating grease accumulates in the cavity of the cage or bearing, and accumulates on the periphery of the rolling element. If there is excessive lubricating grease, it will cause the temperature of the bearing to rise, and even burn (destroy) the bearing.
